Justin recently took the Animal Training & Care course at Unity Environmental University with Professor Dr. Kristyn Vitale.
"My Major is Marine Biology and Sustainable Aquaculture with a concentration in Animal Health and Behavior. The Animal Training and Care course that Dr. Vitale taught was incredible. One of the greatest things I learned from the course was that of Classical and Operant Conditioning. My ability to understand the content is thanks to the very clear instructions and videos that Dr. Vitale provided. The videos where she demonstrated the concepts of +/- reinforcement and +/- punishment were extremely helpful, especially when she was also explaining while she was training her adorable cats. This class was a lot of fun because we were asked to work on a facility handbook for the final project that allowed us to really get creative with our own ideas in conjunction with the sum of what we learned over the duration of the course. The videos where Dr. Vitale was instructing, her quick feedback to questions we had, and the ability to spark an interest in engaging in our discussion forums further than the minimum requirements are something she definitely has a knack for. I honestly have to say that her passion for what she does and the way she teaches is clearly visible in this course, and I for one truly appreciated it! Unity has a plethora of professors from many backgrounds who are all highly qualified to pass on their knowledge through teaching. These carefully curated sources of knowledge, yes I am talking about the professors, are a keystone to education at Unity."
