Audrey is working towards earning a Bachelor's in Marine Biology and Sustainable Aquaculture.
"My name is Audrey, I am 51 years old. Before deciding to start my journey in Marine Biology I was a general manager for Wendy's. I decided I'm still young enough to pursue my dream of being a marine biologist so here I am. I saw an advertisement for Unity College on Facebook and it appealed to me because of its marine biology program. At first, I didn't think twice about it, because of my age. The more I thought about it the more I thought I can really do this. So I decided to contact Unity college and get enrolled.
I live in the northwestern part of Central Florida about 10 miles from the gulf coast. I'm near Crystal River, Florida and if you've ever heard of this area, we are known for our springs. Three Sisters Springs is our most popular spring because of the manatees. I feel like living in this area I have a vast amount of opportunities to be able to hopefully make a difference with the marine life near me. Particularly the manatees.
I would love to be able to work closely with the manatees and help keep them from getting back onto the endangered species list. I also absolutely love alligators and would even consider working with them as well.
I chose unity college for its marine biology course, and because it's an online school that allows me to be able to do school when it's convenient for me. I really enjoy being able to do school work at my pace and my convenience. And the professors are there to help you whenever you need them just like any other college. Of course, there are deadlines for assignments, but we have deadlines because that builds structure. I really enjoy Unity and the programs they offer."
