Happy Saint Patrick’s Day from the City of Belfast!

Every year, the Maine Irish Heritage Center works with municipalities and business across the State of Maine to honor Maine’s rich Irish heritage. For the past several years, the City of Belfast has flown the Irish Flag at City Hall as a statement of cultural solidarity with our sister City of which we share a name, Belfast, Ireland. The City of Belfast is proud to participate in honoring its Irish heritage again this year and to fly the Irish flag in honor of Maine’s Irish heritage.

Our Facilities Maintenance Director Norman Gilmore had the honor of raising the Irish Flag for the City.

A big thank you to the Maine Irish Heritage Center in Portland for gifting the City of Belfast with the Irish flag to fly on our City Hall flagpole.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
