Please join us in welcoming Deputy Dennis Townsend to the Waldo County Sheriff's Office!
Deputy Townsend is a graduate of Southern Maine Community College and holds a degree in Law Enforcement Technology. Deputy Townsend brings a wealth of experience with him to the Sheriff's Office with over 17 years in law enforcement. Deputy Townsend worked for the Bangor Police Department and was a member of their special response tactical unit, mountain bike unit, and patrol division.
Deputy Townsend most recently worked for the Clinton Police Department as well as the Greenville Police Department.
In 2017 Deputy Townsend received a heroism award from the Maine Association of Police for his actions during a hostage rescue.
Deputy Towsend loves spending time outdoors in his off time and is excited to serve the citizens of Waldo County.
