The Saint Joseph's College men's alpine skiing team notched their third-consecutive victory with six place points and a 3:04.54 composite time in a slalom event at Lost Valley on Friday afternoon.
For the first time in SJC men's alpine program history, three Monks stood at the podium at the end of the day as junior Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.), freshman Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.), and junior Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) placed first, second and third, respectively, to give the Royal Blue the lowest possible team score.
UMaine-Farmington placed second with 18 place points and a 3:09.49 aggregate time.
THE RUNDOWN:
- Junior Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) registered the 12th individual win of his college career with a 1:00.68 (30.17, 30.51) performance
- Freshman Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.) recorded his second-consecutive runner-up finish with a 1:01.75 (31.62, 30.13) time – he also posted the fastest time on the second run
- Junior Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) earned the second podium finish of his career and placed third with a 1:02.11 (31.51, 30.60) effort
- Sophomore Jacob Morris (Woodstock, N.H.) finished fifth with a 1:03.12 (32.03, 31.09) time
- Freshman Logan Davis (Naples, Maine) was seventh (1:03.30, 32.27 – 31.03)
- Freshman Colin Rathbone (Groton, Mass.) placed 13th (1:05.57, 33.48 – 32.09)
- Junior Aidan Wolfinger (Bedford, N.H.) finished 22nd (1:09.35, 35.20 – 34.15)
- Sophomore Dimitri Southworth (Biddeford, Maine) was 34th (1:21.40, 38.86 – 42.54)
- Freshman Jacob Gilmore (Naples, Maine) posted a 41.14 time on the first run and posted a DNF on the second stint
