Welcome, Unity College Distance Education student Kalie!

I started my education journey with community college online and then did one year at Northern Michigan University in the Upper Peninsula. I discovered Unity College's distance education and really liked the opportunities that Unity could offer me, so I decided to transition to Unity College.

I live in Howell, Michigan, where I graduated from high school in 2018. I chose Unity College to help me stay close to family, save money, and accomplish more than one career goal. Unity College also had a program with specifically designed classes that I knew I would enjoy!

I am working in a dog grooming salon to eventually also work as a groomer and complete Unity College online. I am majoring in Wildlife Conservation which is something that I have always been passionate about throughout my life. I hope to learn as much as possible here at Unity regarding animals and wildlife conservation issues. I admire that Unity's classes are very interactive and provide all the materials you'd need to succeed in the class. The classes are very specialized, which I believe contributes to a very personalized education.

My future career goals include doing wildlife conservation work as a biologist, becoming a dog groomer, and possibly doing wildlife veterinarian work later in life. Right now, I do wildlife and general photography in my free time and hope to use that alongside my wildlife conservation degree one day.
