The Sheriff's Office has received multiple complaints of fraudulent phone calls today with callers claiming to be specific members of the Waldo County Sheriff's Office and ultimately attempting to obtain banking information or money from the fraudulent callers.
We must inform you that this is not us making these calls and it seems to be the work of the Grinch (or out of the country scam artists). We advise you not to share any private banking information over the phone.
