University of Maine at Farmington Moss Erupts in the Second Half to Lead Beavers Over Saints

Terion Moss (Portland, Maine) scored 36 points, including 29 in the second half to lead the Beavers to the victory on the road on Saturday evening against Emmanuel College. 

The Beavers started the game strong with an 8-0 run in the first minute and seven seconds of the game led by a pair of threes from Silas Mohlar (Readfield, Maine) and Zachary Mickle (Billerica, Mass.). 

After the initial 8-0 run for the Beavers, the Saints would respond with a 24-10 run to take a six point lead with eight minutes left in the first half. The teams would alternate hoops throughout the final eight minutes, leading to the Saints taking a two point lead into halftime.

Jack Kane (Cumberland, Maine) put up huge numbers in the first half to keep the Beavers within striking distance. The senior center picked up 14 points, four rebounds and three blocks in the first half. Moss scored seven points to go with five assists in the first half for the Beavers. 

In the second half the Beavers offense got rolling en route to scoring 53 points to grab the 90-83 victory. Moss shot a phenomenal 10-16 from the field, including 7-8 from the free throw line in just the second half to pace the Beavers. 

The Saints would maintain their lead for the first 7:30 of the second half before the Beavers would reclaim the lead and not relinquish it for the remainder of the game. The Beavers would extend their lead to a game high 11 points at 75-64 with 7:26 to go in the second half. The Saints responded with a 17-7 run to cut the Beaver lead to just one with 2:20 to go in the game.

At that point in the game, Moss took over and scored the final eight points for the Beavers to put away the Saints and give Farmington their second win of the season.

Moss finished with 36 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals while Kane added 18 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks. Mickle pitched in 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists for the Beavers.
