Welcome Unity College student Larissa

Welcome Unity College student Larissa!

Larissa is working towards earning a Bachelor's in Marine Biology and Sustainable Aquaculture.

"Hi, my names Larissa Adams and I’m a Marine Biology major at Unity. I’m from western Massachusetts and currently work as a Recreational Facility Supervisor at the Quabbin Reservoir which provides the greater Boston area with drinking water as well as many anglers in MA, NH, and VT with memorable fishing experiences. I'm currently working through my second term of distance education.

Before enrolling at Unity, I was working in the automotive industry. I’ve worked as a Service Writer behind the desk and as a body technician inside a shop. I always dreamed of focusing on nature and aquatics as I’m a fish hobbyist with a growing collection of aquariums, and Unity made that possible. I can work full-time while paving my career path with Unity’s Distance Education learning. Distance Education allows students to learn from all over the country while continuing day-to-day life which is why I chose this college.

After graduating with my Bachelor's in Marine Bio I am hoping to return for my Master's while opening my own Aquatic store so that I can provide proper knowledge to the public on fish keeping and how to navigate building a natural habitat in your own home. As a backup plan, I'd like to work as a biologist at a Fish Hatchery as my job works closely with hatcheries to aid our fish populations at the Quabbin. I'd also like to continue my research into Ocean Acidification to bring light to our never-ending climate change issues and hopefully make a difference before my time comes to an end."
