Prescription drug and opioid overdose has risen sharply over the last decade and is considered one of our most pressing public health issues. Last week, MaineHealth hosted 200 professionals, both virtually and in person, for a substance use treatment conference.
Presentations included opening remarks by MaineHealth CEO Andy Mueller, a keynote by addiction-recovery advocate Tony Hoffman, and presentations from community partners including Maine Behavioral Healthcare, among many others. The conference reiterated the importance of partnership, harm reduction, and ending stigma.
