City of Belfast Employment Opportunity Firefighter/AEMT

The City of Belfast is accepting applications for the position(s) of full-time Firefighter/AEMT. This is a skilled Firefighting and EMS position consisting of EMS responsibilities, both Emergency and Non-emergency, as well as combating, extinguishing, and preventing fires. It involves responding to a wide range of fire suppression and medical emergencies to ensure the stability and safety of our community. 

The successful candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Fire or EMS related preferred, must possess and maintain a valid State of Maine Class C operator's license, and a Maine EMT-A or Paramedic license is desired. Candidates with AEMT license, who intend to obtain a Paramedic qualification within a reasonable period are encouraged to apply. Additionally, a State of Maine Firefighter I/ II certification is desired and must be SCBA certified. Candidates must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts; that may including evenings and weekends. Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check and a post-offer physical exam.
