This week we recognize Belfast Police Officers Jonathan Guba and Mike Blakely. Last month Officers Guba and Blakely responded to a medical aid call on Whittier Road in Belfast. The 911 caller reported a 15-year-old female at the residence was unconscious and barely breathing. Upon arrival Belfast Officers checked for a pulse and determined CPR would be needed. Officers Guba and Blakely then immediately began CPR and got her breathing again. Their quick actions, training and experience ultimately saved the life of a 15-year girl. The Officers remained calm, professional, and demonstrated the finest Belfast Police Department has to offer. Both Officers received the Department Life Saving Award. Congratulations to Officers Guba and Blakely for your dedicated service to the Belfast community!
