The City of Belfast, a vibrant, development-focused community of 7,000 located in midcoast Maine, seeks a full-time Deputy Economic Development Director. This is a newly created position that will be a vital constituent of the City’s economic development team, working effectively with the City’s Economic Development Director, other City departments, City committees, and partner economic development entities.
The successful candidate will be an effective professional possessing and utilizing exceptional management, research, and analytical skills. The successful candidate will also have an ability to think critically, swiftly learn and integrate new bodies of knowledge, and work effectively in both collaborative and independent situations. The successful candidate will also possess an educational background and/or work experience in economic development or in a related field. There is the ability to tailor this position’s responsibilities to the successful candidate’s unique strengths, experience, and areas of interest.
The salary range for this position is $64,374.59 to $74,627.79. In addition, the City of Belfast provides a robust benefits package to its full-time employees, including health insurance, retirement (Maine Public Employee Retirement System, 457 deferred compensation plan), and paid time off (holidays, vacation time, and sick time).
