Our Thursday Spotlight features Barbara, a nurse and endoscopy clinical care coordinator at Pen Bay Medical Center. Barbara has worked at PBMC for 40 years.
What makes Barbara proud to be a nurse?
"I have been a nurse for 45 years and have always been passionate about what I do. I also believe that nurses have a special connection with patients and each other. I am very passionate about gastroenterology, and as a leader I feel it is my responsibility to ensure that all of our patients are provided with safe, compassionate care. I also feel it is my responsibility to take care of my staff, recognize them for doing well and coach them through their struggles. This is a difficult time for nurses but we are needed now more than ever. I count it my privilege to serve in this wonderful profession called nursing."
